CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW PIF BUILDING
BARCELONA – EL PRAT AIRPORT
Award of the construction of the new PIF building to Levantina, Ingeniería y Construcción, S.L. The PIF (Border Inspection Point) facilities currently available at Barcelona – El Prat Airport are divided into several CIFs (Border Inspection Centres).
The aim of this project is to adapt the facilities to current regulations.
BUDGET AND TERM OF EXECUTION
The estimated budget for the execution of the works is 5,006,626.22 euros.
An estimated time of 14 months has been planned for the works involved in this project.
CONSTRUCTION BORDER INSPECTION CENTRE
The centre will be built on one level of approximately 2045 m2. Most of the centre will be used for the various inspection and storage areas. The building has three structural levels: ground floor, indoor floor and cabin.

Desde el punto de vista perceptual, se dotará al PIF de una imagen potente. De líneas geométricas puras y rotundas para así conseguir una imagen con identidad propia que se identifique y sirva de referencia a la instalación por encima de su estricta virtud funcional.
In terms of architecture, the design of the building has been based on:

- Differentiated image.
- Climatic requirements.
The casing of the building will the such that it limits the energy needed for thermal comfort in accordance with the local climate, the use of the building, requirements in summer and winter, insulation and inertia, air permeability and exposure to solar radiation.
